Electrical and Computer Engineering
Design for Electrical and Computers Engineers by J. Eric Salt, Build the essential design skills you need to succeed in the industry! Eric Salt and Robert Rothery's Design for Electrical and Computer Engineers guides you through each stage of the engineering process, from start to finish. As you work through the text, you'll develop a trong theoretical framework and master practical techniques that you can rely on throughout your academic and professional careers. You'll learn how to define a customer's needs and the design problem, synthesize solutions, evaluate alternatives, and complete the systems level design. The text also addresses the important issues of documentation and testing. In addition, you'll find a number of examples and templates throughout the text, including suggested outlines for design documents such as design specifications, project plans, and test plans. FeaturesPresents a step-by-step methodology for engineering design.A case study elaborates concepts introduced in the text.A chapter on project management provides practical suggestions for organizing design teams, scheduling tasks, monitoring progress, and reporting status of design projects.Includes practical templates and system-level design tools that you can use in your design course, capstone projects, and as a practicing engineer.Explains both creative and linear thinking and relates the types of thinking to the productivity of the design engineers and novelty of the end design.
Video Processing by Yao Wang, Yao Wang received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China, in 1983 and 1985, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1990. Since 1990, she has been with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Polytechnic University, Brooklyn, NY. Her research areas include video communications, multimedia signal processing, and medical imaging. She has authored and co-authored over 100 papers in journals and conference proceedings. She is a senior member of IEEE and has served as an Associate Editor for the "IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology and the IEEE Transactions on Multimedia." She won the Mayor's Award of the City of New York for Excellence in Science and Technology in the Young Investigator category in 2000. Jvrn Ostermann studied electrical engineering and communications engineering at the University of Hannover and Imperial College London, respectively. He received Dipl.-Ing. and Dr.-Ing. from the University of Hannover in 1988 and 1994, respectively. He has been a staff member with Image Processing and Technology Research, AT&T Labs>Research since 1996, where he is engaged in research on video coding, shape coding, multi-modal human-computer interfaces with talking avatars, standardization, and image analysis. He is a German National Foundation scholar. In 1998, he received the AT&T Standards Recognition Award and the ISO award. He is a member of the IEEE, the IEEE Technical Committee on Multimedia Signal Processing, and chair of the IEEE CAS Visual Signal Processing and Communications (VSPC) Technical Committee. Ya-Qin Zhang received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) in 1983 and 1985, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from George Washington University in 1989.
Electrical and Computer Engineering - Electrical and Computer Engineering is a major at many institutes of higher education. In many cases, this is simply electrical engineering (when the institute has a separate computer engineering program) but in some cases the curriculum is changed to add elements of computer engineering. Computer engineering - Computer Engineering (CE) (also sometimes called Computer Systems Engineering (CSE)) is a specialized discipline that combines Electrical Engineering and Software Engineering and is very closely related to Computer Science. List of electrical engineers - This is a list of electrical engineers, people who made contributions to electrical engineering or computer engineering. Christos Papadimitriou - Christos Papadimitriou is a Professor in the Computer Science Division at the University of California at Berkeley. He studied at the National Technical University of Athens (BS in Electrical Engineering, 1972) and at Princeton University (MS in Electrical Engineering, 1974 and PhD in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, 1976).
